Synopsis / Sinossi
Una giovane donna acquista su Limited, app di compravendita di oggetti usati, una tavoletta Ouija. Seguendo con scrupolo il manuale di istruzioni, accende una candela e tenta di evocare lo spirito dei nonni. Nessuna risposta. Con crescente frustrazione passa in rassegna nomi sempre più casuali, mentre il puntatore resta immobile e l’unico segnale che riceve è la notifica dell’app, che le chiede se l’ordine è andato a buon fine. Convinta di essere stata truffata, la protagonista abbandona la seduta e affida il proprio verdetto a una recensione: «Non funziona. Sconsiglio.» Una stella. Poi spegne la luce.
A young woman buys a Ouija board on Limited, a secondhand marketplace app. Carefully following the instruction manual, she lights a candle and tries to summon the spirits of her grandparents. No answer. With growing frustration, she runs through increasingly random names, while the planchette stays motionless and the only signal she receives is the app’s notification asking whether her order arrived successfully. Convinced she has been scammed, the protagonist abandons the séance and delivers her verdict in a review: “Doesn’t work. Not recommended.” One star. Then she turns off the light.

Michela Menichelli è una video editor milanese con oltre 15 anni di esperienza nella post-produzione per cinema e televisione. Nel corso della sua carriera ha curato il montaggio di documentari, lungometraggi e format televisivi. Il cinema è la sua vera passione: ha firmato la regia,
la sceneggiatura e il montaggio di due cortometraggi indipendenti — “Routine” e il videoclip animato “I Papi” — entrambi selezionati in concorsi nazionali e internazionali. “Bad Review” nasce dalla stessa voglia di raccontare storie con una visione precisa, un occhio attento al ritmo e al dettaglio, e tanta curiosità per il cinema di genere.
Michela Menichelli is a Milan-based video editor with over 15 years of experience in post-production for film and television. Over the course of her career she has edited documentaries, feature films and TV formats. Cinema is her true passion: she directed, wrote and edited two independent short films, “Routine” and the animated music video “I Papi”, both selected at national and international competitions. “Bad Review” comes from the same desire to tell stories with a precise vision, an eye for rhythm and detail, and a lot of curiosity about genre cinema.
