“Duck Face Killings”, made for the band Fulci and scored by them, is a short film/trailer inspired by the atmosphere of the great Lucio Fulci’s thrillers. Specifically, it blends the iconic elements of Don’t Torture a Duckling with those of The New York Ripper… culminating in an unexpected ending.
“Duck Face Killings”, realizzato per la band Fulci e da loro musicato, è un corto/trailer ispirato alle atmosfere dei thriller del grande Lucio Fulci. Nello specifico, mixa gli elementi comuni iconici di Non si sevizia un paperino con quelli di Lo Squartatore di New York… con un finale inaspettato.
Biografia del regista
Domenico Montixi was born in Sassari in 1980. He studied at the CMT in Pisa and the DAMS in Florence. Since 2009, he has worked as a videomaker and director, and in 2012 he created No Redemption with… Don Mitraglia, a short film disguised as a trailer, in which he explored the atmosphere of 1970s–80s Italian and international genre cinema. This stylistic approach would go on to define several of his later works, including L’isola dei Resuscitati Morti (2022), which competed in the Brigadoon section of the Sitges Film Festival and won Best Italian Short Film at both the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival and the Fantafestival, and Duck Face Killings (2024), made for the death metal band Fulci.
Domenico Montixi, è nato a Sassari nel 1980. Studia presso il CMT di Pisa e il DAMS di Firenze, opera dal 2009 come videomaker e regista, e nel 2012 realizza “No redemption with…Don Mitraglia”, corto mascherato da trailer, nel quale ha modo di sperimentare le atmosfere del cinema di genere italiano e internazionale degli anni 70/80, che poi contraddistingueranno diversi altri suoi lavori, tra i quali “L’isola dei Resuscitati Morti (2022)”, in concorso nella sezione Brigadoon al Festival di Sitges, e vincitore come miglior corto italiano al Trieste Science+Fiction Festival e al Fantafestival, e “Duck Face Killings (2024)” realizzato per la band Death Metal “Fulci”.
